Soledad O'Brien
Soledad O'Brien is founder and CEO of Starfish Media Group, a multi-platform media production and distribution company. O’Brien’s anchors and produces the Heart Television political magazine program “Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien,” reports for HBO’s “RealSports with Bryant Gumbel,” the PBSNewsHour and WebMD. She has produced numerous documentaries, including the award-winning Black in America and Latino in America series for CNN. Earlier in her career, O’Brien co-anchored “Weekend Today” and contributed to the “Today” show and “NBC NightlyNews.” In 2003, O’Brien became the face of CNN’s morning news shows and a go-to breaking news anchor. There, she won three Emmys, the George Foster Peabody Award, and the Alfred I DuPont Award, among others.
O’Brien is also a speaker and critically acclaimed author of "The Next Big Story.” Along with her husband, she created the Soledad O’Brien & Brad Raymond Starfish Foundation to help disadvantaged young women get to and through college.
