Jeff Shumway
Jeff Shumway is Vice President at Social Finance, where he leads the Advisory Services group. In this role, Jeff advises governments, nonprofits, and philanthropies related to innovative, sustainable funding strategies with an emphasis on measuring performance and achieving results for individuals and families in need.
Before joining Social Finance, Jeff spent 16 years developing data-driven strategies for the nonprofit, for-profit, and public sectors. Most recently, he spent nine years at the The Bridgespan Group, working with world-class foundations, nonprofit intermediaries, and direct-service organizations projects in domestic and international contexts. His projects spanned public health, entrepreneurship and small business, homelessness, K12 and post-secondary education, and youth development. As a member of the management team, Jeff also played significant roles in recruiting, staffing, and talent development for the Boston office. Prior to Bridgespan, Jeff was with the Monitor Group advising Fortune 500 clients in energy, transportation, health care, and RTC Direct, an innovative advertising agency using data to build better customer relationships. He also worked in the Urban Institute’s Metropolitan Housing & Communities Policy Center analyzing housing policy. Jeff has lived and worked in Guatemala, Philippines, and the UK. Jeff is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the Harvard Kennedy School.
